Letla joined Grant Thornton in 2012. She is an Assistant Manager in the Assurance team and has over 9 years of work experience in the assurance field.
Experience
Letla worked as an Accounts assistant at a small consultancy firm for 1 year. She then enrolled for the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) qualification and began her technical work experience training with Grant Thornton. In her current role, she ensures completion of audit engagements. Letla also supervises audit assistants on several external audit engagements, and she is also involved in imparting on-the-job training to them.
Sector experience
Letla has been involved in external audit engagements for companies from various sectors, including banks, parastatals, non-profit making organisations, distributors and real-estate companies.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Letla has completed the Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification and has undergone various trainings at Grant Thornton such as ISA Proficiency Series, a training which is relevant to her role. She is currently doing the professional level of the BICA qualification.
Technological proficiency
Letla has experience operating various software to execute audit methodology, such as IDEA (data analysis), LEAP (Grant Thornton patented tool for identification of financial statement risks and linkage to the processes and internal controls established to address those risks) and TeamMate (audit workflow). Furthermore, she is also proficient in using Microsoft Office applications to ensure quality of work.
Community involvement
Letla participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities paying special attention to the upliftment of education in Botswana.
