Kaone Rabatshabeng joined Grant Thornton in 2023. She is a Senior Manager in the Assurance team and has over 13 years of work experience in the field of assurance services.
Experience
After completion of her qualification with Botswana Accountancy College (BAC), Kaone worked with KPMG for a period of 3 years.
She joined Grant Thornton in 2015 as an Executive and moved up the ranks to Manager. Kaone is involved in managing key audit assignments, in-house training of the recently joined staff and executive trainees with regard to the audit software used by Grant Thornton as well as various other audit standards and methodology adopted by the firm.

Kaone has worked with a vast clientele from various industries such as manufacturing, construction, real estate, retail, food and hospitality, public sector (parastatals), trust funds and listed companies.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Kaone has completed the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and is an Associate member of the institute. She is a Fellow member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA), and an Associate Certified Professional member (ACPA) of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
Technological proficiency
Kaone has extensive experience operating various software to execute audit methodology, such as IDEA (data analysis), LEAP (Grant Thornton patented tool for identification of financial statement risks and linkage to the processes and internal controls established to address those risks) and TeamMate (audit workflow). Furthermore, she is also proficient in using Microsoft Office applications to ensure quality of work.
Community involvement
Kaone participates in Grant Thornton’s CSR initiatives such as recently supporting Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy within the education sector by sponsoring a state-of-the art imported tech panel – a first for public schools in Botswana. Over the years, Grant Thornton has supported various local communities paying special attention to the upliftment of education in Botswana.
In her personal capacity, Kaone is currently the National Chairperson of Independent Assemblies of Botswana Children’s Ministry.
