Our premises are equipped with security surveillance systems to protect individuals, property, and the premises. By entering or remaining on our premises, you explicitly consent to the collection and processing of personal data via these surveillance systems, as provided for under the Data Protection Act, 2024.
Key information in compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2024
Purpose of surveillance: Surveillance is undertaken to ensure security, deter unlawful activities, and protect the safety of employees, clients, and visitors, in compliance with the purposes stipulated under the Act.
Lawful basis for processing: Personal data obtained through surveillance is processed on the basis of legitimate interests, as permitted under the Act, specifically for purposes related to security and safety.
Recording and monitoring: Surveillance activities on our premises are continuously recorded. Access to recorded footage is restricted to authorised personnel, who process such data strictly in accordance with the Act.
Retention period: Surveillance footage is retained for a maximum period of 30 days. However, retention may be extended in cases where the footage is required for ongoing investigations or legal proceedings.
Sharing of footage: Recorded footage may be shared with law enforcement agencies or other competent authorities where necessary and as authorised by the Act. Such sharing shall be limited to purposes consistent with the original intent of data collection.
Your rights
In accordance with the Act, individuals have the following rights concerning their personal data collected via surveillance:
- The right to access personal data recorded by surveillance systems.
- The right to request rectification or deletion of data where it has been inaccurately processed, subject to legal exceptions.
- The right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Representative (DPR) if you believe your data rights have been infringed
